Happy Memorial Day Weekend

If you are like me you have lived through the winter-loving it at times then looking forward to the change of seasons known as spring then into summer!  But this year has been a bit crazy weather wise.  Cold one day and then hot the next.  It looks like we will be having rain again on Memorial Day.  But for people who lived in Vegas nothing will stop a BBQ-heat, cold, rain, snow!!  So let the Summer partying begin!!  Then I will star whining about the heat!!

Mail Call

Look what came in the mail for me!!  This was a generous giveaway from lilraggedyangie.  She had pack the box with so many goods.  I am not sure which one will be my favorite or if they all will be.

Big decisions!

My son has already laid claim to the bird pillow.  Anything with a beak and it is his.

The workmanship is superior.  I was so lucky to be the winner!

I am so impressed with people that can take a photo of the package before they tear into it...apparently as you can tell I tore into it then thought of taking a photo of the box with the cute address labels but was to excited to get a good photo.  Had to go handle all the goods!

I guess it is true when my husband says "that a true crafter has to touch everything".

HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY

Have to Work!

Well I have to buckle down and do a bit of work...I will be teaching this Shara Reiner pattern to the gals at the Heart of Utah Decorative Painting chapter May 14.  I need to sand the wood, staple in the screen and trace the pattern on.  Last count I had 19 students.  I have to also write out my description of the way we will paint it because I changed the colors of the heart and some of the other elements.  I like to have it all prepped so that we can get in there to paint and chat it up!
This original pattern is in the May 2004 issue of Quick and Easy Painting.  I love this spring time design.  The sun is shining here and I want to be outside but...have to work!

The Sun is finally Shinning

Yea!! The SUN is finally shinning and it is feeling more like spring after this last week of off and on snow showers.  So in celebration my husband planted 14 cabbage plants...they do well here and usually we have an over abundance.  But my kids will not eat them.  Last year we had so many that we gave them away and still had enough to make sauerkraut and bottle it.  My kids will eat that...go figure.

So my way of celebrating is to remind everyone about the OLD FARM HOUSE GATHERINGS Summer Time Hugs Celebration going on right now.  It is not to late to sign up and the winner will receive the whole kit and caboodle.  Drawing will be held May 28th!!
