TOP OF THE WORLD

As summer is winding down and the work begins in earnest such as harvesting, canning and freezing all the great produce of the summer it makes me feel like the time went way to fast!! I am hoping I am not the only one feeling this way but here's to Fall!

I wanted to share a couple of photos I took while we were 4-wheeling with my sisters family up behind Park City, Utah.  It was too beautiful.
I was standing on the top ledge of the mountain looking down into this gorgeous view and was wondering
how hard it would be to build a house there.
Well I think a house on top of the ledge would be a little difficult but one can always dream!!   It was a breath taking view and I wanted to share it with all my good blog friends.  Enjoy the last days of your summer!     Barb

Good ole Summer Time

As summer time draws to an end it is always a mixed bag of emotions for me. I LOVE green. I love sitting on our patio watching birds and gazing at the mountains. I enjoy watching my kids on the trampoline, watching them fishing and staying up late cooking S’mores over a little fire.

But the anticipation of fall colors and the crisp cool air gives me more energy. I do enjoy the cool.
So after living in Alaska were there was one cold season then living in Las Vegas where there was one hot season, I love living in a place with a change of 4 seasons!!
So I am sure you will hear me go on again about the change of season come winter.

We were able to squeeze in a mini vacation to Bear Lake, Utah and Idaho. It was beautiful and we had a great time.
Now back to work…I put my Etsy shop on vacation while I do a local craft boutique. Then as soon as that is over work will really begin.

Kids back to school next week and I really have to buckle down and start painting. Wish me luck, it is more fun to play!

Enjoy!

Rooster Party

I really did not notice that roosters or chickens existed until at my grandfather's farm they would start to vanish and we would have chicken for Sunday dinner.  So needless to say I was not a big chicken/ rooster fan until I met my friend, Anita, who lives in Las Vegas.
She had roosters and chickens everywhere-porcelain, stuffed, dinnerware, every type and kind . Mostly decorating her kitchen/dinning area but they could be found almost everywhere in her house.  I wish now I would have taken photos of all her roosters.
But now I notice I am kind of hooked on at least painting them.  They are a fun lot to paint!!

Chickens at work!!

Let's not forget the Funky Roosters!

Special Thanks to Barb at Bella Vista for hosting such a fun linky party.
I hope you will take some time to check out all the fun Roosters!
Enjoy Your Day!!

I Was Accepted!!

I met a great gal online from my Etsy shop whose name is Jody!  She is full of energy, kind words, and just plain LOVE.  We have corresponded back and forth for a time.  Well, looking around at her blog and Etsy shop I found that they have this great group of ladies that have formed "The Old Farmhouse Gathering".  They are some of the greatest artists!  Well,  I applied and Jody sponsored me and I was voted into the  gathering.  Needless to say I was thrilled and honored to be included into this great group.  So you will be hearing more about them as time goes by.

Jody owns Primgal Primitives Palette and it is well worth your time to check out her primitives.  Her painting is outstanding!  And it looks like to me that if a thing will hold still long enough she will paint on it.  That is truly someone with passion!

The ladies are having an Autumn Celebration !! The Old Farmhouse Gathering Team's Fall Celebration  will be starting on Monday, August 2-15!  Search Etsy using the search tag of ACOFG you will find 87 new fall items that will be showcased by this Etsy Team!

This is just a taste of Jody's work!
Please take the time to check out the work all these ladies have done for fall it is wonderful!

Enjoy! Barb
