WIP and Last day to sign up for my giveaway!

It has been a bit crazy here...my daughter went to a State competition for FCCLA on Thursday and will be back tonight.   My son leaves tonight for a Scout camp out and will be back tomorrow.
You know that is a load of work for a Mother, right?
So "THERAPY" please!!
These are a few things half done:
Welcome sign with butterflies...need to dress this up a bit and not sure what to do.
I would love to add something to the big blue butterfly, crystals, or spots?
 Half painted chicken and watermelon.
Half done patriotic bucket with hanging tag.
Plate full of half done watermelon magnets.
I guess half done is better then none done.

Today is the last day to sign up for my giveaway.  Click HERE to enter.
Here's hoping that half done becomes completely done!
Thanks for stopping by and enjoy your day.

Beware of Chickens!!!

My brother has chickens and has been giving us some of the eggs.
I wonder if this is causing me to have a chicken painting run.
So beware this is a chicken photo heavy post!
They have been fun to paint!

At least these don't cluck and leave a mess you have to clean up!!
Some are listed on Etsy and some are going to my next show.
I am not even sure how you could mail the tall stacked chickens...and with the postal rates it would probably cost a mint (not the candy kind)!
Today might be a good day to paint butterflies and watermelon in hopes of Spring and Summer!
Temp at 35 degrees!!
Enjoy your day!

Tax Day Giveaway!!

Happy Tax Day!!
I finally finished the last of my taxes Thursday.  Needless to say the stress this causes is almost unbearable and it probably would not be so bad if I did not procrastinate it to the very last minute!!
Then to wake up to 2 inches of snow on the ground makes this day complete.
SPRING?!?!?
So is all the snow and cold due to my New Years resolution of  trying to keep Christmas in my heart this whole year?
In honor of all the snow I will be having a giveaway of a this snowman ornament with a cardinal on his hat and the word painted on this ornament says it all!
Rules:
Be a follower of my blog and leave a comment on this post.
New followers always welcome.
Leave a way for me to contact you if you do not have a blog.
If you would like to share this giveaway I would appreciate it!
A winner will be picked on April 19 and announced on the 20th.
Might even be an extra little something Spring related for another follower so you have to stay tuned.
Open to all USA and Canadian friends. Good Luck to all!

I have to share what I painted for my sister.
She had this napkin holder that my dad had made for her little cub scout group years ago.
For her birthday she told me she wanted this painted and gave me the suggestions for what she wanted on it.  This is how it turned out.  I think she likes it!

Hope you all are having a fabulous tax day!  I am now.
Enjoy!

I think my luck gave out so back to work...

Now that I think I have used up all the luckiness for this year in one week I figured it was time to get back to work.
I looked at the mountain of barn wood at my Dad's house and the smaller mountain we have here and decided it was time to take action!
(We could catch on fire!)
After a bit of explaining and coaxing I talked my husband into showing me how to work one of  his "babies",
 the radial arm saw!
I set about lining up all this barn wood and cutting off the bad parts and getting it to a size I figured I could put a fun pattern on.
Then out came the sanders.  I took off the rough edges....now that is a trick with barn wood!
Pulled out the drill press for action.
I did know how to work some of these things, but I think the last time I used the belt sander was in Las Vegas!
I have yet to finish some of these...not sure how to embellish the chicken welcome just yet.
Once I put the drill holes in I will start messing with it and he will come together as will the kitties.
The hardest part is working with the wire.  I forgot how difficult it is to work with #9 fencing wire.
(Unless you are stringing a fence.)
This is were my husband has had to step in and give me a hand so to speak.  He put the loop on the blue funky flower and I really liked it!
The other thing I forgot about was all the slivers and scrapes you get from working with barn wood.
YUP, my hands look like they have seen better days.
I like painting on this wood because of it's unique texture but don't use your best brushes....my brushes are looking like my hands, a bit mangled.
Headed to the garage to cut more wood.  And wouldn't you know--it is snowing again!
Enjoy your day,
Barb

OK, my last win from my lucky week....

OK, my last win from my lucky week....now you know I will be in a dry spell for a long time so I had to enjoyed every minute of sitting by the steps rain, snow or shine waiting for the post lady to come!!
I happened to be on Facebook and as we all know I am FB untrained.
I saw that Sue Allemand, an artist I have admired for years was having a giveaway of her art on her FB page.  She is what I consider a "BIG BRUSH"!
AWESOME ARTIST!!
I signed up and figured I had done it wrong...what's new?!
She then messaged me on FB to tell me I had WON.
I messaged her back and just in case I did that wrong I e-mailed her.
Apparently excited?
She sent me these WONDERFUL prints!!!
I am going to frame them in black and hang them on the wall in the hallway that looks like it could use some help.
They are the perfect colors!!!
Yet again photos (and me taking the photos with a camera that needs to be replaced) does not do these any sort of justice!  The are MAGNIFICENT!!
Thank you so much Sue.
Cannot wait to get them framed and on the wall!
Sue can be found here:

Not that I am ready for a dry spell but I think I have had my share of good luck lately!!
Enjoy,
Barb

My lucky week did not stop there!

I was in the middle of ONE LUCKY week!
Not only did I win from the FAAP group but Felicia of Raggedy Creations had a giveaway and I won this FABULOUS penny rug!!
It is wonderfully stitched and I am curious as how does one make it so every stitch is the perfect size and shape?  What a mystery and/or is it AWESOME talent?!?!
I am going with the later!
TOTAL TALENT!!
It measures 16 1/2 inches round.  I think I will be putting this on my dinning room table with severe warnings to my kid:  "NOT TO TOUCH...It is like a Museum piece".
Once again photos just do not do this wonderful piece of art justice!!
Thank you so much for this FABULOUS Creation Felicia.
Now it makes me wish I could even hold a needle and thread and not break out into hives!
No I still have to leave this to the professionals like Felicia!!

Felicia can be found here:

Any suggestions?
Yet again photos just do not do justice to this fabulous creation!
