CELEBRATION AND GIVEAWAY

I have decided to have a give away just to celebrate the six months of having a store on Etsy and four months of having a blog and being accepted in to "The Old Farmhouse Gathering".  Basically it has been a huge learning curve!!  On top of the fact that Halloween is just around the corner-what's not to celebrate!

The winner will receive this hand painted framed art of the "Best Witches" because every one deserves to be the best witch they can be!

So basically the rules are:

Just leave me a comment and a place to contact you at if you are the winner.

The drawing with be Sunday night October 3 and I will post the winner next Monday. My kids will pull your name out of the hat, bowl, sock, you get the idea!

If you want to spread the word on your blog I would greatly appreciate it!

Plus you just never know if there might be another surprise at the end of the drawing unless you comment!

Thank you for your support and following my blog as the learning continues!

Good luck to all!

Craft Show

I am going to be displaying my wares at Simple Treasures Fall Craft show this week  in Davis County across from Lagoon.  So if you are in the neighborhood stop by.  This is the first time I have done this show.   I am excited to see how it turns out.  I stopped by at the spring show and it was very organized and big! Click on the name of the show for more information.
Have a good week!

Busy, Busy, Busy

To many things to talk about but I thought once the kids were back in school and I was not living in my car with my Coleman stove and lantern hauling them here and there things would settle down. Wrong now it is time to gear up for the major amounts of homework, still hauling them to ice skating, scouts, piano, etc. You get the picture.

But still have to work at trying to get ready for my first craft show of the fall.

On the up beat though Kristi at Punkin Seed Productions has a great link party with all these great ideas and things people have been working on. Some are tutorials and are amazing. Check out Kristi's work too it is amazing!

Check out the links to Burger party, Halloween Advent Calendar, and paper pumpkins just to name a few. I will have to go back and really check all of these out!

Because I am not smart enough to take a photo while I paint I will just have to explain my entry. (Kristie I will do better next time.)
You will need:

1 ½ x 1 ½ inch square piece of wood
White, black, and orange paint

Stain or I use burnt umber paint and a rag

Tacky glue

Pin back or magnet

2 different buttons for eyes

Sander-a girl's best friend

Green embroidery floss

Matte Krylon Spray

Paint the wood orange then sand around the edges. Stain the entire piece of wood front and back and wipe off leaving the front of the face with less stain. Draw on a dome shape nose and paint white. Once dry, thin your black paint to ink consistency and outline the mouth and the nose with multiple thin lines. Glue on eyes and a tuft of green floss on the back for that just picked look. Spray  with the matte spray and let dry. Then glue on a pin or a magnet. Great little gifts for teachers, friends and co-workers.

Hope you enjoy and give it a try. The hardest part for me is getting my husband to cut the word or trying to get to the saw myself!
