Where does the time go?

  I am not sure what happened this last 6 months.  It was a roller coaster of busy-ness. 

 It looks like the same starting this new year.

Thinking of goals......well that will have to come a bit later.  

Maybe one could be a bit more dedication to this poor ignored blog.

My wish for you this new year is PEACE, LOVE, and JOY!!!

So Long Summer?????

I do not think I have ever had a summer as busy as this one.

The roof.......

A HS graduation.

High Adventure Scout Camp.

Scout meetings--living in my car.

Hail storm...dead garden.

Scout meetings--living in my car.

One kid to Washington D.C. with the FCCLA.

Wisdom teeth out on a Kid.

Scout meetings--still living in my car.

Week long Scout Camp in the High Uintas.

One kid to St Louis to see sights and on to Michigan for a National Order of the Arrow Scouting Celebration of 150 years.

Recovering garden, producing what.....ZUCCHINI!

Painting for a show in September.

To Michigan to see family.

A stop in Kinkora, Canada to see where my husband's family had a homestead.  

We were able to see the wonderful old church and the grave yard.  

My husband's favorite place to hang out..."The Marble Forest" as he calls it!

Then to Niagara Falls!!!

Now home.

Cutting Barn wood!

 I have a Kid in College and a Kid in High School.

But the speed of life is still too quick for me.

  Scout meetings--living in my car still!!

We really need to go school shopping!!

And painting for the upcoming shows and celebrations!!

After reading this I could really use a NAP.

Recap of June!!

  June was a crazy busy month here in our little piece of the world.

We stripped the shingles off the house and shored up all the "soft" spots.

This equaled five trips to the dump and one to the metal recycling plant. 

We got all the water proofing down on the roof just in time for a HUGE rain storm to hit! A down pour like this in a few minutes scares us desert dwellers.

We survived but many houses around us had flooding in their basements.

Let the shingle laying begin!

What a huge project.

In between all this my daughter graduated from High School. 

As you can see from all the cords around her neck she earned many awards.  She makes us proud.

With any project around here, there is always a Sunday you have to get on the roof with your Sunday best on to fix something on the roof....glad he did not do a header off the roof.  It was worth going to church after this!!

So in between all this madness there were birthdays, my niece's wedding, Father's Day, Scout Camp, out of town visitors....you get the idea.  The list is long.

Yes, even had a couple of custom orders to do.

This is just one of them and I love how this turned out!!

Now do I dare hope that July might be any slower and a bit more relaxing?

I don't think so by looking at my calendar!

Happy Memorial Day!!

HAPPY MEMORIAL DAY!!

We were suppose to be re-shingling our roof this weekend with some help from my brothers but with all the rain we have had we had to postpone doing the roof.

We will be having a picnic with family here.

I guess the roof will be done over the coarse of the summer.

It always comes down to the best laid plans!

Interesting how time flies!

We have been busy with spring cleaning, graduation from High School, Scouts, Church and everything in between!

My Spring show went well and now I am gearing up for the Taste of Summer Celebration with the Old Farmhouse Gathering Team on Etsy.

I am not sure we will be seeing summer here....it is now cold and rainy.

Just in time to re-roof  and shingle our house!!

Some New Things!

Amazing what you can do under pressure!

I decided to do a spring show and it is right around the corner.

 I am trying to paint up a storm and also list some new things to my Etsy Shop.

We had snow on the tulips the other day but it melted fast.

It truly has been a strange winter....especially when you finally turn the heat on in the house at the end of March!
