Fun Trick or Treat Swap in the Mail

The Primitive and Folk Artist had a Trick or Treat swap and my partner Brandy of The Lil' Prim Cabin sent me some of her amazing creations!!

She had it wrapped so nice that it was all I could do to keep my kids from tearing into it and I even took a photo.  She had included a little poem too!!  So much talent!

These are the great creations that I received and because I had the scissors in my hand the candy corn candy she had sent got opened right away!!

We're Back!!

We had a mini-vacation this last week and because the kids were out of school for two days we decided to go to San Diego.  It has been my goal to get my kids to Legoland for the last two years and this was the year.  They are not getting any younger!  Of course on our travels we always have to take the traveling penguin!

We started in San Diego Harbor and toured the USS Midway.  It was fascinating!  My son and I loved it.  We are big World War II addicts.  I am not sure how the sailors new were they were at any time on that ship.  It was a huge ship.  It had an audio tour with it and I learned so much.

Next was Sea World and we had a great day.  The one thing I notice from the previous time I had been was that the trainers are not in the water with the whales any more.  It was a great show and a perfect day.  We were able to see all the shows we wanted and ride some fun rides ie: Journey to Atlantis!

Last but not least was Legoland!  It was very interesting with loads of displays and rides.  I think my kids had fun and at least I got them there before they were 40 years old!   Great accomplishment for me!!

Well it is back to work for me...got to pay for the trip!!

Happy Columbus Day here in the USA!  We got to set up flags with the Boy Scout at 6am.  Will be having a nap later!!

Where did September go??

I am not sure what happened to September?  I seemed to have the whole month ahead of me to paint and be creative because school was starting...but it is gone.  Still behind in so many things. 
I have also decided that "Merit Badge" for Scouting is a four letter word.  I think that is were I have spent most of my time.

I decided to go through some of my stash and paint it-so out came some Halloween items that I had even forgot I had.  At least I was able to paint some of this up in the odd 15 minutes here and there.

I hope you all are doing well and are not so busy...What am I talking about!?!  We all seem to be in the same boat!
