Celebrate with TWO Give Aways!

WOW!  It is hard to believe how fast time flies.  April 6, 2011 will be my one year anniversary selling my wares on Etsy.  As I have mentioned before the learning curve for me was huge.  I have mastered turning on the computer and even sending an e-mail or two!  Then there are you, the wonderful friends I have met on line who have supported my endeavors and answered so many questions.  I could not have done it without all of you!
So to celebrate  I will be having two drawings.  One in honor of the one year anniversary and one for Easter.  Due to postage costs this will be open to US and Canada only.
The Bunny Couple above will be one of the give away gifts.  It is a design by Angie Black and hand painted on fiberglass black screen and then framed in a reclaimed handmade (by my dad) wood frame.  It measures 11 1/2 x 11 1/2 inches and has a hanger on the back.

The second give away is for the Easter Egg Hunt sign that measures 14 inches long and has a white wire to hang with, a funky flower magnet, and a prim shelf sitter bunny that has been cut (by my husband) out of one inch pine.  The bunny was then painted and stained and has a flower and leaves glued into place.

Here are the rules:
  • Be a follower of this blog
  • Visit my Etsy site  and let me know what your favorite item is
  • Tell me what your favorite Easter candy is (mine is the Robin Egg Whoppers by the handful)
  • Please share with all your friends and post to side bars
The give away will end April 3, 2011 and the winner announced on April 4, 2011.  This will give my kids each a turn of pulling a name out of a hat!
Thank you for all your support and I am looking forward to meeting many more friends in the next year!  Good luck to everyone!

I hate to whine and complain but we have had all winter to have snow and I feel really bad for all of you in the Midwest that got all the snow.  But the forecast here is for snow tonight and into tomorrow!
NO, I am ready for Spring!  Winter had it's chance...bring on the sun and warmer temperatures.
Well at least I have been painting for Spring.  A couple of new listings on Artfire and Etsy.  Hopefully this will help bring on SPRING!

Anybody else ready for Spring?

Great article at BY YOUR HANDS blog about the ways to by total cliche on St. Patrick's Day.
It is the proper thing to do.  My kids drink Sprite because it comes in a green bottle.
I got a kick out of it.

Pay it Forward 2011

Pay It Forward 2011

I have never participated in a PIF (Pay it forward) before, but when I saw this on Icehouse Crafts blog and then on  Tins and Treasures  blog, I was curious and interested. So I hopped on over to Natalie's blog to see what it was all about and decided it was time to play and pay it forward.

How it all works:

The first 5 people that comment on this post will receive something handmade from yours truly. But first you have to write a blog post explaining "Pay it Forward 2011". Then you will send out a handmade gift to the first five visitors who leave a comment on your blog post. Please leave a way to contact you too.  Your handmade gift does not all have to be in the mail tomorrow, so take your time in creating your heartfelt treasures. This is a great way to meet new friends and share a little bit of yourself with them.

Remember it's not the size of the gift but the thought that counts...so let's all have fun and Pay it Forward!

Edited to add: Please everyone that is signing up to Pay it Forward only do so one one blog. The whole idea is for one act of kindness to grow into 5 and then that 5 to grow into 25 and those 25 to grow into 125 and those 125 to grow into lets see if I can do the math on this...625 and so on and so on.
This can be a great thing!!

The cutest Bunny arrived at my house Today!!

I do not think photos do justice to most things and I have to tell you this photo is no exception!  This little bunny arrived at my house today and is the cutest thing I have seen in a long time.  (Sorry kids)
I was the lucky winner of one of Mamaws Creations!

If any one has any question about my sewing ability you know it is non-existent. (I get the sewing machine out and kids run from the room...no ones happy if Mom is not happy.)
So it amazes me what people can do with fabric!
This little bunny comes with a load of personality too-just look at that face!

But we are not done yet.  This big floppy eared bunny was in the same package.
Well my smile widened and a giggle popped out and my husband thought I was nuts until he saw this.  "That is really cute!"

AWWW...just look at that face!
Maire has so much talent.  How do you give critters such personality?!  But she does it.  She has some of the cutest critters in her collection!
You need to check out her blog and also her selling blog at:
You will not be disappointed!!

Pinch Proof!! A bit o'green you can wear and avoid the pinch!

This little pin will keep you from being "PINCHED" this St. Patrick's Day!!
The complete tutorial is located on The Old FarmHouse Gathering Blog site.
Or change it up to make a magnet for a hostess gift if you are going to celebrate with family or friends.
The photo below is the same shamrock as the pinch proof one above only glued onto a one inch square piece of wood then a magnet applied to the back!

ENJOY and for heavensake don't get pinched!

Doris of  iplayoutsidethebox.blogspot.com!!  Thank you to all that participated and told me about your traditions on St. Patrick's Day!  I will be adding Horseradish and green milk to the menu!  The blarney will happen and the corn beef will be eaten!   But until then think green and enjoy your day!
